arffff...
Hello,

After the upgrade of WindowBlinds build 5.49s beta to 5.50.017 via Stardock Central, the build number is 5.1. Before the update: 5.49s beta.

I try this tip: «I would suggest changing download servers under Tools->Settings and in the Internet Section. You might also want to 'Refresh XML Data' as well.»

Same problem.

But, WindowBlinds show me via "System Information": WindowBlinds 5.1.

I'm really disappointed!!!!

Thanx in advance

Darken, don't bother. It's obvious he's rather be a little troll and complain for the sake of complaining.

Nothing new

Well, it's finally back to normal function (SDC that is). It's finally not reporting any new version available. Didn't change a thing... didn't renew xmls (did this previously several times). Only thing that changed was 4 hours past... no reboots, no nothing. Checked the forums and then checked SDC again. Didn't state there was a new version. Meh...

As for Zubaz's post above... who cares man. Every one of my threads has me bitching about a shotcoming of something that ties to this program or another. I complain, who gives a crap... get over it man. Without complaints companies would never try and improve their products or services. Doesn't matter if it's free or not, if I find a flaw with something I will state what I find. I'm sure Microsoft got tired of my complaints about Vista during testing and bug reporting. It sure is amazing that those issues (while not all) have been resolved in the final build... hum... what a concept.

Now let's see if SD will let me down again with skinning of the command prompt in WB5.5. I expect it will still not function in XP, but if that joker stops skinning the command prompt in Vista I will REALLY go off because Vista "natively" skins the command prompt window. I guess we'll see.

When I get old I'm gona be one of those "Mean old bastards"... lol!

But not here.

Just chill.  Error reporting is just that.  It is NOT an excuse to rant.  THAT is just a character flaw...

Why can't you guys just test stuff out before you release it?;

Well it's a beta version.

If you can't handle the heat, don't use beta versions. And stop whining, wait for the release version.

IT's CALLED A BETA FOR A REASON!!!!!!!

DONT LIKE HAVING PROBLEMS USE THE OLD VERSION THATS WHY SDC KEEPS IT THERE....

ALSO THE ONLY WAY PROBLEMS CAN BE AVOIDED IS IF YOU RUN A DEBUGGER TO HELP SDC SOLVE PROBLEMS AND SEND THEM THE LOG. THEIR ARE SO MANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS A SOFTWARE PROGRAM CAN HAVE ITS INPOSSIBLE TO MAKE ANY SOFTWARE 100% STABLE....

Really? I hadn't noticed...   You don't really have any complaints though, you just like being nasty for the sake of it.

You guys or gals have reading comprehension skill problems. I complained about SD not testing stuff before release because the VERSION NUMBER WAS WRONG when they posted this on SDC. Did you people even read the title of this thread. My rants in this thread have nothing to do with WB being in beta. It had with SD messing up and labeling a recent release of WB as 5.5 (FINAL!), not beta. So when people (yes people, I didn't start the thread) went to check SDC yesterday morning they saw WB5.5.017 and thought, yey I'll upgrade. Only when they did they noticed that they were still running WB5.1. It was a messup that caused problems for many people yesterday.

Now, are we all clear on what happened or do I need to draw pictures in crayon for some of you?    Read carefully next time...

Hello,

This threat: Wrong version after the update of WindowBlinds 5.50.017.

Before in SDC...
WindowBlinds 5.50.017 = 5.10.017
WindowBlinds 5.49t

Now in SCD...
WindowBlinds 5.10.017 = 5.10.017
WindowBlinds 5.49t

If you have installed wB 5.50.017 (5.10.017), impossible to downgrade without uninstalling the wrong build. But now, the problem is gone.

@Forum Moderators: Please, close this threat. The problem is gone.

Not here.

I had the same thing happen, repeatably. Thanks to this thread, I was able to confirm it and clear it by restoring the previous version. I am just ignoring the wb5.50 offers to update.

Not here.

Oooops, sorry.

Don't forget this solution:
-----
Okay, the solution is (under Windows XP):

- Backup all custom themes
- Uninstall WindowBlinds via Stardock Central (choose to delete all themes).
- Reboot
- Delete this folder: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds
- Flush all files and folders located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Local Settings\Temp
- Open Stardock Central
- Go to Tools --> Settings --> Internet
- Refrest list
- Refrest XML Data
- Click ok
- Go to Tools and click on Check for Application Updates
- Uncheck Show pre-release versions
- Install WindowBlind 5.1
- Reboot
- Check Show pre-release versions
- Install WindowBlind 5.49t
- Reboot

The squeeky wheel gets the grease most of time. As rude as it appears, pissing and moaning loudly all the time does typically work.
