Published on October 6, 2005 By SteveGosselin In WindowBlinds
Hello,

WindowBlinds 5 works perfectly but...

Where is the option to change the color in the Wb5 console? (that is only available in Windows/Display propreties/Appearance)
Exemple --> Link

There is not an option to install and uninstall theme in the Wb5 console?
Also, there is not a link toward SkinStudio?
Exemple --> Link

thanx in advance, great job Wb5 Team!

All the options you mention are right in front of you..... look closely at the previewed skin.

I think there's font color problem with some skins. Load This Skin, Change Skin Color, Edit Skin in SkinStudio, etc don't show up for some skins--ex Anion by DanillOC. The controls are there if you know where to mouse around for them, but the font color makes them invisible.

Look at his screenshot (first link), they are clearly visible.

Ah yes, thank you
I'm nOOb today!

Dang, I was struggling with the same thing. My fault ...

But, even after clicking the Install from Disk link and selecting a skin, the skin is never added to my list of skins.

I have this problem also, and only on Anion.

Me three with Anion. It can be recolored, but the font is white on white so not visible.

I think where those "hidden" options are is pretty inventive, but unfortunately even for us veterans it was missed at first.

VERY INVENTIVE! However, I have a minor glitch with 1 of my systems. The option icons are all visible on my Dell Dimension 4100 I purchased in 2001. It has a 1 gz p3, 512 meg of ram and a GeForce2 MX400 graphics card with ver. 52.16 vid drivers (I know they're out of date, but it's my server/backup). However on my main system (2.8 gz P4, 2 gig ram and GeForce FX 5900 w/256 ram w/ ver 78.01 vid drivers) only two of the 4 option icons are visible (the top two). The 'invisible' options work (found them by accident). Both systems run WinXP Pro w/SP2. Any suggestions on making the invisible visible?

I didn't do anything different on the two installations. Also, I could not believe that the glass effects actually work on the old Dell! That really says something about the skill of the Stardock programmers that wrote the code! Congratulations on the good work. Any help on my minor glitch will be appreciated.

I don't know. It seems like alot of people don't expect there to be any usable controls in the preview area. It might not be the best thing to mix the preview area with the actual controls.
I found the old layout alot easier to read than the new one and I don't think it's because I'm used to the old one.

I totally agree with you thomassen. I even asked in other forum and nobody bothered to answer to where to buttons were. I'm glad that someone did here.

There's only one last thing here. Were is the tray icon? Don't tell me it's right in front of me now!

"where's the Tray Icon" there is no Tray Icon yet, this is stated in the Beta Release notes.

The reason the controls are now part of the preview is due to a limited amount of space.  Moving them into the preview gives us a much larger preview area.
